I am Dow Williams, a full time climber who divides his time between the Canadian
Rockies alpine environment and the desert rock of southern Utah and Nevada.
Living in Canmore has allowed me to climb some of the finer alpine rock and
waterfall ice routes in the world. It is my intent to continue and explore as much
of the "lower 48" red rock and the Canadian Rocky Mountain wilderness as
possible, whether by alpine and trad objectives, waterfall ice, scrambling, sport
climbing, back country/cross country skiing, etc.
I no longer update this site on a regular basis. Rather I encourage you to visit my
work on summitpost.org if in search of climbing beta or stock photos. Some of my
more comprehensive works at summitpost.org include: Zion National Park Free
Routes, UT; Moab Towers, UT; Red Rock, NCA, NV; St. George Rock, UT; City of
Rocks, ID; Joshua Tree National Park, CA
Bugaboo Provincial Park, BC; Canadian Rockies Ice; Canadian Rockies Alpine;
Canadian Rockies Scrambles; Ghost Rock; Yamnuska Rock; EEOR Rock
"I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately,
to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could
not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to
die, discover that I had not lived."
Henry David Thoreau

This site is dedicated to my assessment and
experience on various routes and mountains where
I have successfully completed the route or tagged
the summit. It is up to you to decide what is safe
and within your ability.
